Dish

I love a great savory brunch, but can’t eat eggs anymore. That generally leaves me with potatoes, ham, and toast. Which is great, but a bit boring. Imagine my delight when I stumbled into Dish one Saturday and discovered a plate of potatoes, covered in black beans, covered in cheese. Makes for one happy me.

Dish is located in the land we call Freelard or Balmont, on that stretch of Leary between Fremont and Ballard. They are open for brunch only, and there is almost always a line on Saturday and Sunday mornings.

They have the best fruit plate in town — hardly any melon (I can’t stand melons besides watermelon), lots of berries, apples, pears, and bananas. Thena absolutely loves the soy-ginger vegetables and tofu.

Breakfast doesn’t get any better than this.

  1. It’s true…I love the Dish for breakfast. Their corned beef hash id the best I’ve ever had anywhere! I wish they served Bloody Marys though…or even a red beer. I haven’t been there in quite some time so maybe they do have booze by now. Anyone know?

  2. Sadly, no booze.
