Umi Sake House

Last week we were set on having sushi somewhere new before seeing Ani Difranco at the Moore. We had never been to Wasabi Bistro, so we thought that would be a fine choice. We parked on First, walked up to Second, and were arguing on the corner about how far away Wasabi Bistro [...]

Geraldine’s Counter

A couple of weeks ago we went to Geraldine’s Counter in Columbia City. Here’s a place you can definitely miss. Geraldine’s is a diner, though the decorations are more IKEA than retro (not that there’s anything wrong with that). The menu is American classics, and we were all looking forward to a [...]

Mike’s Chili Parlor

So we’ve lived in Ballard for years, always driving by Mike’s Chili Parlor commenting on how we really need to go. We finally went a few weeks ago and we can’t get enough of this place! The reasons for patronizing the little brick structure are numerous and more importantly, sentimental. You may ask how a [...]

May 10

What’s up with a so many great events happening in Seattle on May 10? Here’s a list of the things I would go to if there were more of me.

KT Tunstall (Moore)
Margaret Cho (Paramount)
Janeanne Garofalo (Showbox)
Cirque du Soliel - Corteo (Marymoor Park)

Plus these that I would go to somewhat willingly:

Avril Lavigne (Everett Events Center)
Seattle [...]

April Snow

There was snow in the air all weekend here in Seattle.  Most of it didn’t stick, but we did get a little bit on the tulips.  The picture is of Milo, who enjoys snow more than anything, and our sad little tulips.

A list you don’t want to be on

The wikipedia has so much useful information, including this list of unusual deaths.  Both gruesome and tragic, the list runs from antiquity to present day.  I imagine it will continue to grow until the internets no longer exist.  I wonder what percentage of Darwin award winners make this list as well.

Steak In Seattle

Nothing says “date night” like a big, juicy steak served with a glass of bourbon on the side. As long as filet mignon exists in this world, I can never be a vegetarian. When in New York, my first stop is always the original Smith & Wollensky. Being a seafood paradise, Seattle [...]

R.I.P. Zagi’s Pizza

Anyone who has experienced the little hippie pizza haven in Ballard called Zagi’s Pizza knows that they have rockin’ New York style pizza (sold by the slice as well - gotta love that!) and a kick ass greek salad.  Indeed, I had gotten into the habit of stopping by Zagi’s on the way home from [...]

Programming Language Inventor or Serial Killer

Continuing on today’s law and order theme (I have absolutely no idea what is up with that), I found this site that has a fun little quiz for you… programming language inventor or serial killer.  They show you 10 photos, you pick whether the person is a programmer or a serial killer.  I only managed [...]

(Some) Security Guards Suck

This is a little shout-out to the security guards at the building complex I work at.  I’m not sure what you do all day, besides watch reruns of 80’s sitcoms on your little TVs.  You definately weren’t around a few months ago when somebody broke into my car and stole my shitty stereo and perscription [...]
