I enjoy a good dive bar. There’s something perfectly pleasant about spending a few hours on a Sunday afternoon playing Scrabble and drinking beers with friends at a local dive. The Sloop is a great representative of the species.

We went to The Barking Dog Alehouse for a quick dinner tonight. It is a great little pub, a bit off the beaten path in Ballard. We’ve been there several times and always leave saying we should go there more often.

We tried out the new bar/restaurant Zayda Buddy in Ballard last night with a couple of friends. It serves “authentic” Midwestern food. Not being a Midwesterner, I can’t really comment on the authenticity, but they do serve Michelob.
